Granny needs help looking after 7 grandchildren
|
Imagine losing all four of your children in the space of just a few months. Debbie wrote to us and told us about Aunty Hessie. She says that even though Aunt Hessie is a very positive person, she has had a very, very dark year.
It started in March when her stepdaughter, Magdalene, was taken to hospital with high blood pressure and problems with her sugar levels. She passed away two weeks later. Two weeks later, her daughter, Hester, passed away after losing a two year battle with cancer. After Hester’s passing, Aunty Hessie was left to take care of her four grandchildren (their father has also passed away). It didn’t end there. In August this year her other Stepdaughter, Sonia, fell ill and after a short sickness also passed away. Four days later her other daughter, Esteronia, passed away suddenly after suffering a heart attack. After her death, Aunty Hessie was left with an extra 3 mouths to feed, which means she now takes care of 7 grandchildren. Debbie told us that even though everyone was taken aback by the tragedy, Aunt Hessie remained strong – and put her family first. Mountain Mill and some of their tenants are giving Auntie Hessie gift vouchers of more than R20 000! Albany Bread Distributors in Worcester will also bring her 4 fresh breads every day for the next year worth R13 000 Listen to Full Clip Here! |
